About Firefly Childcare
Welcome to Firefly Childcare Wexford, a family-run childcare service providing a home-from-home environment in a peaceful rural setting.
Firefly opened its doors as a full day care service in April 2022, building on more than 10 years of experience providing Montessori and childminding services to local families. Our ethos has always remained the same — to provide a holistic childcare experience that supports every child’s physical needs, social development, and emotional well-being.
As demand for full day care grew, Firefly expanded its space and services to meet the needs of families in Wexford and surrounding areas. Today, we continue to offer a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive at their own pace.

About Tara
Tara, the proprietor of Firefly Childcare Wexford, has devoted almost 25 years to working in early childhood education and care.
After leaving school, Tara studied at Portobello College, where she earned her Childcare and Montessori Teaching qualification. Her passion for continuous learning led her to begin a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood Education and Care with Carlow IT Wexford in 2018.
Throughout her training and career, Tara has developed a deep understanding of the importance of quality education and care during the early years. She believes that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential in an environment filled with warmth, respect, and encouragement.
Tara’s greatest joy is seeing children of all abilities progress, grow in confidence, and discover their strengths. Her goal is simple yet powerful, to help children become strong, confident, and kind individuals who carry these values throughout life.
